Adhiraj Thakur Wins Historic Singles and Doubles Titles at ITF Junior 30 Ahmedabad 2025

Well, the name is Adhiraj Thakur. The youngster from Madhya Pradesh has made news and is in the headlines as he has won both the singles and doubles titles from MP in the recently held ITF Junior 30 Ahmedabad tournament. The tournament took place from 8th to 13th September, and winning at this stage shows the rising talents of Indian tennis. These are the youngsters who are going to be the brightest stars of Indian tennis and lead it forward. Adhiraj is a rising star and will gain great heights, especially since the kind of tactics he used are not expected from a 17-year-old.

 

Thakur Overcomes Top Seed with Powerful Backhand and Forehand

He started the match with quite a range of shots and defeated none other than the top seed Dev Vipul Patel through straight sets of 6-2, 6-4 to secure his victory in the final. The key shots would be the backhand shots and the consistent forehand shots, which kept him moving ahead to clinch his victory. Well, this was not the only thing that stood out, but he also defeated Aditya Mor quite easily with a scoreline of 7-6 (5), 6-3 in the semi-finals to proceed ahead in the finals. Aditya was also the third seed, and defeating him meant a great deal for the 17-year-old.

This is not the end of the journey if we think about it. He also paired up with Ojas Mehlawat in the doubles as he spiked up his win chances, and exactly that's what happened. He claimed victory along with Ojas Mehlawat against the duo of  Veer Madam and Dev Nandsana as they totally dismissed them with a scoreline of 6-2, 6-3. They were pretty dominant from the first set, and Aditya showed his class from the very first set, and he kept the momentum with himself throughout. This win boosts Adhiraj's confidence, and he will try to increase his ranking in the ITF and work hard to represent India one day. Some other rising stars like Maaya Rajeshwaran, Revathi, and Kriish Ajay Tyagi are showing a promising future for Indian tennis. It's a sign that Indian tennis is moving towards the right direction with the younger generation ready to hold the baton. Adhiraj would look to keep the same momentum in the upcoming tournaments and play with the same passion and energy.
