Apple has finally launched the new iPhone 17 series of devices. The Cupertino Tech Giant unveiled four new devices at its "Awe-Dropping" event on September 9th. Although it was pretty much clear from insider leaks and rumors that there will be four smartphones in the iPhone 17 lineup. These devices include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Although the star of the "Awe-dropping" event was the iPhones, Apple introduced a couple of other things. Primarily, it was the AirPods 3 in the audio segment, whereas in the watches segment, it was three new additions: the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and the Apple Watch Series 11. Meanwhile, iOS 26 with the all new Liquid Glass feature has also been launched. Overall, it was an eventful night for Apple which unveiled a slew of products.
However, first and foremost, we are going to talk about the iPhone 17 series. The iPhone 17 has been unveiled with significant upgrades in all departments, including Display, Battery, and Chipset. iPhone 17 Display
The iPhone 17 comes with a 6.3-inch Pro Motion Display. Moreover, the brightness this time has been cranked up to 3000 nits for bright outdoor viewing angles. Moreover, an LTPO 120 Hz panel has been provided for the first time in a non-Pro iPhone model. Along with this, Ceramic Shield 2 has been provided for better screen protection and to prevent fingerprints.
iPhone 17 Camera
In the camera, significant improvements have been made, but no Night and Day difference, so to speak. The camera module is a vertical one with a primary 48MP OIS sensor and the secondary one being the same 48MP ultrawide sensor. Although the main improvement one can say is the 18MP selfie shooter. Lastly, the camera has been provided with all the bells and whistles of an iPhone, including ProRes Log codec.
iPhone 17 Processor
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 is powered by the Apple A19 silicon chipset. The chipset is fabricated on the 3nm technology by TSMC, which is better in battery efficiency. The processor has a 6-core structure which includes 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores. Additionally, to facilitate the on-device AI tasks, a 5-core GPU has been included too. Lastly, a bigger vapour cooling chamber to reduce thermal issues and advanced modem chips have been used.
iPhone 17 Design
Apple has this time ditched the Titanium frame for an aluminium unibody frame. Moreover, the frame has been polished at the sides and rounded at the corners for the better grip. People who are interested in buying the device can choose from Lavender, Mist Blue, Sage, Black, and White colour options.
iPhone 17 Price
The price of the iPhone 17 has been set at $799 in the US, which translates to around Rs 82,900 for the base variant, which is the 8GB and 256GB one.
