Kriish Tyagi is the only Indian player in the US Open 2025, junior category, which is scheduled to start from August 31. He is only 18 years old, hailing from the state of Karnataka. He also says there is one key thing he would like to bring to the upcoming US Open: strength, mental resilience, and, most importantly, physical dominance. This is quite unexpected from a young 18-year-old guy like Kriish, and yet quite interestingly, unlike most of the GenZ's, he chose tennis as his sole goal, and here he stands today as the icon for the youth and the sole representative in the US Open 2025 Junior tennis championship. He is the current number one from India in the junior category. As someone who doesn't like to be much in the spotlight, Kriish got into the limelight after his Wimbledon win, says there is no pressure as the only Indian in the US Open before leaving for the tournament.
He had paired up with South Africa's Connoir Doig, a young duo, and both of them had advanced to the quarter finals, and this made the event more remarkable, especially given the massive support base their opponents, the British, had.
