As the India vs Australia third ODI is underway in Sydney, Nitish Kumar Reddy misses out due to injury. He had played the first and second ODI against Australia. In the last match in Adelaide, he injured his left quadriceps (thigh muscle) while fielding. The incident kept him out of the third ODI series in Sydney, and currently, the BCCI Medical Team is monitoring his recovery every day.

India made changes in the bowling department according to the players' fitness issues. India takes the field with 3 pacers and 3 spinners. The all-rounder Reddy's absence from the third ODI allows spinner Kuldeep Yadav to play in the final match against Australia. Apart from Reddy, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is also missing the match, and he has been replaced by Prasidh Krishna.

According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team, this incident occurred in the middle of the second ODI match in Adelaide when he tried to stop a boundary, and he suffered a left quadriceps injury, which ruled him out of the final squad.

Nitish Kumar R eddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis. said BCCI in an official statement.

India is currently 2-0 down, and losing a young all-rounder will affect the balance of the team. In the last two matches against Australia, Reddy scored 19* in his debut and 8 in the second match. However, he couldn’t make any impact in his bowling spells.  As the medical team oversees his rehabilitation process, they will update his recovery details in the coming days as the board aims for the next five-match T20I series. Once Reddy recovers from the injury and he will make a comeback to play. The medical team will update.
