It was not really a great day for CR7 fans as Portugal ceased to a 2-2 with Hungary. This also dents the prospects of Portugal's World Cup Qualifier. Even after Ronaldo's magical performance with two goals, it was not enough to sustain Portugal's victory. Hungary rose back strongly and that led to the final draw at 2-2. The first half was exciting with 2 goals from Portugal and then the equaliser from Hungary. Though Portugal is in a good situation after 3 wins out of the 4 matches that they have played till now. They are at the top of the table with 10 points.

Ronaldo’s Brace Shines, but Hungary’s Late Strike Spoils Portugal’s Night

The match started with the first goal from Hungary in the 8th minute by Attila Szalai. The score was 1-0 early on. However, it didn't really affect  Portugal as CR7 equalised the score in the 22nd minute with a sweet and swift goal. Ronaldo post-match said, "I’m proud to keep scoring for my country, but tonight we should have done better as a team. We lost focus at the end, and in football, that always costs you.” It was indeed disappointing for him as they edged past victory and then the end moment goal of Hungary failed the whole plan. The second goal was also scored by Ronaldo in the 45th minute.

Szoboszlai’s Last-Minute Strike Stuns Portugal in a 2-2 Thriller

The final and the decider goal was scored in the 90th minute by Dominik Szoboszlai. The match finally ended with a 2-2 draw. Portugal fans were quite disappointed and that was quite evident. Hungary's captain said “We knew Portugal are one of the best teams in the world, but we believed till the end. This result shows our spirit.” This will put Portugal in a dicey situation and they would need to come out of it stronger in the upcoming matches. Hungary however would need to pack up and start winning matches in order to qualify. Next year's World Cup awaits some crazy performances.
