Now, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has broken his silence on being ruled out of India’s upcoming ODI series in Australia. Jadeja revealed that he is still working hard to get a place in India’s squad for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Jadeja’s Eyes Firmly on the 2027 World Cup
Two days after the Test against the West Indies, Jadeja opened up about his ODI omission. “It is not in my hands. I want to play, but at the end of the day, it's all about the thinking of the captain, coach, selector, and the management. They must have a reason behind not keeping me in the team for the Australia ODIs. They spoke to me, it is not like that I was given a surprise. He also confirmed that the selectors and team management had already spoken to him before the announcement. “The captain, coach, and selectors spoke to me about their rationale. I am happy about it. Whenever I get the chance next, I will try to do what I can. There are numerous ODIs before the World Cup; if I get a chance and perform well, it would be beneficial for Indian cricket,” he added. Selector Ajit Agarkar explained that India needs more than two spin bowlers, which is why Jadeja has been excluded from the squad. However, Jadeja expects to play in the next World Cup. he expressed his hope to be part of the Indian team for the 2027 World Cup.
