Coco Gauff delivered an electrifying 6-3, 6-1 victory over Poland’s Magdalena Fręch at the US Open 2025. Gauff got the support and cheer from the home crowd and she proved why she is considered one of the best in the world and is a bright shining star in the arena of tennis. The strong shots taken by her were more than enough to dismantle Magdalena and she could not resist such strong shots and eventually gave in to her tactics and this continued throughout the match. 

Coco Gauff’s Strong Start Sets the Tone

The first set started and it went normally with both the players maintaining their serves but quickly Gauff took up her game and increased her intensity of the shots and this showed how Magdalena was struggling to keep up with the pace and and miscalculation of her shots led to more errors by Magdalena and hereafter Gauff gained momentum. The first set ended with Gauff ending with her strong serves at  6-3 with little reaction from the Polish.  The second set was even more tougher for Magdalena as the baseline hitting helped Gauff more in this set and it turned out to be quite one-sided. The early breaks gave her the momentum she was looking for and with the backing of the crowd she closed the set at 6-1 in just a span of an hour sealing her place in the next round.

The best thing about Gauff is how she converts the challenges into opportunities and this is what she did today against Magdalena in all the sets.
