It was an Italian drama at the Louis Armstrong Stadium today as Lorenzo Musetti locked horns with Flavio Cobolli. Two Italians were pitted against each other and there was an enthusiasm before the match as to who would secure victory, but in reality, the match turned out to be one-sided. Musetti stole the show today and also the 10th seed in the tournament. He quite well understood the dynamics of the opponent. This could be seen from the opening set as he broke Cobolli's confidence and sealed the set by ending it at 6-3 by his trademark technique he uses which is aggressive baseline plays and the precise sjot making and that was enough to keep Cobolli off the track.

The second set, Musetti further held onto the court and made use of Cobolli's struggles to get a more firm grip on the match. It was again Musetti taking the hard shots with Cobolli looking clueless, and this gave Musetti another chance and left no crumbs by smoothly ending the set with 6-1, which made the tone of the match pretty clear.

Musetti Seals Victory with Final-Set Bagel to Advance

The last and final set was completely lopsided, and here reached the stage where Musetti was almost unbeatable, and there was literally nothing that Cobolli could do at this point. Musetti ended the match with a 6-0 bagel, and this marked the end of Cobolli as he had an exit from the tournament without being able to do much. Musetti, on the other hand, with this victory advances to the next rounds and with hopes and the morale boost of doing even better than this.
