US Open 2025: Andrey Rublev Survives Tristan Boyer Scare in Epic Four-Set Battle

The young American Tristan Boyer delivered what can be called the best performance of his career. Andrey Rublev, the Russian counterpart, was pushed off to a very high octane and neck-to-neck in the second round clash. Rublev, having the experience and composure and gave a hard fight 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6(7), and in the end, victory touched Rublev's feet. The opening two sets were mostly in Rublev's hand. He played with the baseline exchanges with the searing forehands and relentless depth.The scores went like 6-3, 6-3, and it was like a routine win for the Russian as the first set came to an end with this one.

 

Boyer Pushes Rublev to the Brink Before Experience Prevails in Thriller

There was a dramatic encounter in the third set, though. Boyer, a native, got support from the crowd and started taking risky shots, and he also stepped inside the baseline and flattened out his groundstrokes. This is how Boyer got back on the track as he captured the set 7-5, fueling hopes for a comeback.

 

Rublev Holds Nerve in Tiebreak to Seal Victory over Boyer

The fourth set was even more dramatic, as there was a counterattack from Rublev with both of them holding serve under immense pressure. When it was 6-6, it seemed the set was heading to a tense tiebreaker. The crowd at the stadium was stunned when Boyler edged and made the score 7-6(4) by levelling the match at two sets. In the fourth set breaker, it was Rublev's experience that helped him. Rublev stayed calm, and the serves at the crucial moments clinched him victory. It finally ended with 7-6(7) with Rublev having the final laugh, even though Boyler gave a tough fight.
