The match started with the audience pumped up and cheering for both the players and Felix looked quite energetic from the start. There was no scope for mistakes, and extending rallies and long serves made it worthwhile. Felix secured momentum with a lead of 6-4. The shift of the match started from here onwards. The speed rate of his shots ranged around 125 mph. In the post match interview, Felix said, “That second-set tiebreak changed everything. I was just telling myself to stay aggressive, no matter what. Against a player like Alex, you can’t back off, he runs down everything and makes you earn every point. Once I got through that breaker, I felt a wave of energy. The fourth set was some of my best tennis, and I’m proud I stayed composed all the way to the end. Reaching the semifinals here is a dream, but I know the job isn’t finished.”

Minaur Falls Short as Felix Clinches Quarterfinal Classic

Minaur was disappointed with his performance. “It hurts. I had my chances, especially in that breaker, and I didn’t take them. Against a guy like Félix, those moments make all the difference. I thought I played some great tennis for most of the match, but in the fourth set, he just lifted his level and I couldn’t match it. Credit to him, he was brave, he went for his shots, and he deserved it. For me, it’s back to work. I know I can compete at this level, and hopefully next time the small margins go my way.” The second was quite thrilling as it ended with an 11-9 score as Minaur took his best shots and took it till the end. The third set was a game decider as it ended with 7-5 with Felix clinching the title.
