In the second, the Darderi tried to give a counterattack and was almost successful in pushing Alcaraz into long rallies. When it was the third set, Alcaraz suddenly became very energized, and there was a dip in Darderi's performance as well as in his energy.

Alcaraz started taking very strong shots, and in retaliation, there was nothing from Darderi's end. This led to a 6-0 end of the set, which was a ruthless display of Alcaraz's dominance. The match was almost one-sided, with onlya little fight in the second set by Darderi but it was mostly dominated by Alcaraz. He would bank on this experience for his future matches, and losing against one of the world's best will be a memorable one for Darderi.
