Tuesday night turned quite interesting as the match just concluded between Iga Swiatek against Emiliana Arango. She showed an amazing performance, more commanding in nature against her Colombian counterpart with a clear 6-1,6-2 victory and wrapped up the match in just one hour. This was clearly a one-sided match, with Swiatek dominating, and the crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium watched in awe as Swiatek performed. Her rhythm was flawless, which was evident in the match as she took control of the set in just thirty minutes. She achieved this by unleashing thirty winners, and Arango struggled to find stability, unable to match Swiatek's prowess.

Swiatek Storms Past Arango in Straight Sets

Swiatek stayed calm and in control, hitting plenty of winners while making very few mistakes. She broke Arango’s serve four times, which showed just how one-sided the match was and left the Colombian struggling to catch up. Stats of the match are also quite impressive, which is around 60% of the first serve, and out of that, 87.5% was won by the Polish star Swiatek, whereas Arango got around 38.9% which is a very stark contrast and a clear indication of the performance by both. There were attempts by Arango to showcase her skills, but the pressure of the stage and the young age at such an event created more pressure but Arango showed some flashes. Swiatek's performance today showed she is in her usual red hot form. She had also won Wimbledon this year, and there she secured her win through a flawless final, and this was through a summer court hard swing.

Confident Swiatek Cruises Past Arango

Her journey in New York began on an upward trajectory as she was quite confident after her wins in the Cincinnati Open. She upheld that momentum even in today's match. Swiatek greatly took advantage of Arango's limited experience, especially at this level, and used it decisively. This will be a moral boost for Swiatek as she will prepare to face Dutch qualifier Suzan Lames, who's 66th-ranked in the second round. The prediction after today's match is that Swiatek is more than ready to take the match into a deep draw, which involves powerful shotmaking and the first serve performance that leaves very little scope for error.
