The sixth movie in the YRF spy universe, War 2, starring Hritik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, is set to make its OTT debut after completing its theatrical run. Directed by Ayan Mukherji, the spy thriller drama hit theatres on August 14, and the film also marked Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's Bollywood debut.
Earlier, Netflix announced that the movie will be available to stream on the platform starting from October 9th. The movie will be available in three languages, namely Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. Sharing the news on their official Instagram handle, the OTT giant wrote: “Double the rage. Double the rampage. Ready for the War? Watch War 2, out 9 October on Netflix.” While the movie barely managed to recover its production cost at the box office, the public reaction to the movie was a mixed bag of emotions. The same sentiment was echoed in the comments section, as some users replied to the news with laughter emojis while others expressed their anticipation for watching the film.
Hrithik Roshan has earlier spoken about War 2, the first time since the film's theatrical release. Sharing pictures of his character Kabir from the film on Instagram, he shares, “Everything seemed so perfect. Like it's meant to be. A sure shot. No worries, just needed to do my job right. Of course I did. But something was lurking behind that presumptuous certainty. A voice that I kept shutting out..This is too easy ... I know this too well. And another that said, I deserve it, every film doesn't have to be a torture and trauma and an incessant search for the truth of the moment. Just relax.”

War 2 is the sequel to the 2019 spy-thriller film War, which starred Hritik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. War 2 film is the sixth film in the YRF spy universe, which features Kiara Advani and Jr. NTR as the other leading actors. The next instalment of the series was teased in the post-credits scene of the movie, which is titled "Alpha" and will star Alia Bhatt, Bobby Deol, and Sharvari. War 2 earned Rs 364.25 crore worldwide, falling short of surpassing its predecessor War’s lifetime collection of Rs 471 crore.
