In a major development ahead of the ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025, Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was originally slated to stage five fixtures, including the opener on September 30 featuring India, two league matches, the second semifinal, and potentially the final. The decision comes after Bengaluru police denied clearance to host games, citing that the Judge Michael D'Cunha Commission report declared the venue unfit for major events following the June 4 stampede tragedy.
