India started the Test series against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi with a win. As we enter into the second day of the second Test, India continues its dominance and declared their first innings at 518/5. The young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal once again showcased his unbeaten performance by scoring a century, bringing up his seventh Test century. But his remarkable innings of 175 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi was ruined by an unfortunate run-out due to a miscommunication with captain Shubman Gill. This dismissal takes place early and just adds two runs to his overnight 173. He is the third youngest cricketer in Test history to score two double centuries after Sir Don Bradman and Vinod Kambli. He was just 27 runs away from his third Test double century, and the mix-up left Jaiswal emotionally upset.

The match started with a good partnership between Jaiswal and  Sudharsan. Jaiswal's performance was excellent, hitting 22 elegant boundaries, displaying his consistency and aggression. He handled the new ball perfectly and controlled the innings. The dismissal didn’t just end his good innings but also added another record alongside Indian cricket legends Rahul Dravid and Sanjay Manjrekar for the highest scores by Indian batsmen who were dismissed by run out.  Dravid’s 217 and Manjrekar’s 218 hold the highest scores in these cases.

The 23-year-old Jaiswal’s dismissal frustrated him, and he showed his disappointment while returning to the dressing room. His performance has put India in a good state, with the team declaring at 518/5.  The incident conveys how a small mistake or communication can impact the player's opportunity to achieve something remarkable.
